Policy and regulation: V2: the ‘new normal’ – but what does this actually mean?
14 March, 3:00-3:45pm
Victoria Jardine, partner
This session will address the following questions:
- why V2 is the most common viability grading amongst RPs (looking at the spectrum of organisations now carrying V2 and why this is/what the trends are for more regrades in the future)
- the reality of a financial viability ’regrade’ to V2 (getting behind the strapline to understand the individual reasons for a regrade/looking at when it actually becomes a challenge for borrowing etc via non-compliance, and when it doesn’t necessarily have any impact, debunking assumptions to measurers of success)
- managing the impact of of V2 (looking at how RPs respond to a V2 rating through strategic asset management, reframing development, managing diversified activities, treasury strategy etc / whether to strive to regain V1)
- the long-term impact of a V2 sector (bigger picture: increased costs of borrowing/stock investment/development/access to funding)
