VIRTUAL ROUNDTABLE: Changes to Keeping Children Safe in Education: Online checks during recruitment – are you ready?

Event time
Thursday 15 September 2022
10:00 am - 11:00 am
Location
Online

Please note that this session will be held on Zoom.

Scheduled after the chaos of the start of term, its purpose is to check in with the newly revised Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2022 and most specifically unpack the new clause encouraging schools to carry out online checks as part of recruitment. KCSIE is rather inadequate to address the issues the online searches throw up, for example:

  • how adequate is KCSIE guidance?
  • what checks should/could you do?
  • could checks be discriminatory?
  • proportionality?

This roundtable will provide an opportunity for selected HR, operations and other professionals responsible for recruitment in the education sector to discuss different approaches to such searches, share experiences and best practice, learn from others in similar roles and positions as well as listen to the advice and practical tips our education team here at Anthony Collins Solicitors have to offer. This is a limited invite event which will be held under Chatham House rules.

Who should attend?

HR, operations and other professionals responsible for recruitment in the education sector.
