Supporting employees with disabilities
Adapting to our team’s needs is important to us. We monitor the physical features of our offices and take steps to improve access. **For example, we created an evacuation plan for an employee who is unable to use the stairs.**
The Disability Group at ACS
We’ve also recently created The Disability Group under the ED&I banner. We decided that we wanted to raise awareness of Disabilities in the Firm, both seen and unseen, and give an insight into living with a disability. The first disability we are going to discuss is diabetes.
Puja Desai interviewed an ACS employee about her condition and recorded a podcast – they begin by discussing the different types of diabetes, their similarities and their differences! They then talk about how she was diagnosed, the emotions that came with the diagnosis and finally how its changed her everyday life. You’ll find the recording HERE.
