The end of this academic year is looming as we look back on a year like no other! Workplaces do not look the same as they did at the start of 2020 and will not for some time, schools are no exception.  With staff more used to working from home and having more flexible working arrangements, many are loathe to move back to the pre-pandemic practices. This does then pose issues for employers in the sector; most notably what does hybrid working look like for educators and support staff?

Join us, and a small group of selected senior HR colleagues working in the sector, for a round table discussion on Tuesday 6 July 2021 at 9.30 am – 10.30 am via Zoom. Chatting over issues with peers in the sector, under Chatham House rules, can be invaluable for gathering knowledge and know-how and sharing best practice.

During the session, there will be a brief 15-20 minute legal overview of the legalities of flexible working requests and then open it up to participants to discuss the practicalities in our post-pandemic world. We will seek to focus our discussion on the following issues:

  • What requests have you received for altered working patterns?
  • What are your concerns regarding these types of requests and what challenges do they present?
  • What reasons have you given for refusal (where request refused)?
  • Are you seeking to change any terms and conditions to reflect changed working patterns?

If you have any other related issues you would like to discuss as part of the session please contact Lucy Calladine and we will seek to address those as part of the discussion.

Please contact Lucy Calladine to express your interest. You will then receive an email confirmation and joining instructions by return.

*Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first saved basis.
