Course outline – Managing sickness absence

The purpose of this training is to equip employees with the necessary knowledge and expertise to manages sickness absence at work whether that be long or short-term absences.

The training is appropriate for all sectors and sizes of organisation and can be tailored to your needs where necessary, with certain areas addressed in more detail on request.

The course takes delegates through the key steps of managing sickness absence, equipping them to respond effectively to short and long-term absences and any potential underlying issues and how to use other health professionals most effectively. Given the complexities of these situations, the training allows the opportunity for questions, discussion and a chance to apply what delegates have learned in case study scenarios.

This half-day course is relevant for all staff who deal with sickness absence situations whether that be as managers or as part of an HR team. An understanding of your organisation’s sickness policies and procedures is desirable.
