Kate Jackson, a Solicitor in Private Legal Services, has been nominated in the Assistant Solicitor of the Year category at The Lawyer Awards.
She has been recognised for her dedicated work with clients, as well as her commitment to charity and community causes.
Kate has developed a specialist practice in Court of Protection litigation to complement the long standing mental health work of the firm. She is regularly instructed in complex welfare matters and is recognised for her expertise in this emerging field. She was instrumental in setting up the Court of Protection users’ group in Birmingham to provide a forum for legal professionals who work in these sensitive areas of the law.
Kate, along with three colleagues, also recently raised more than £15,000 for charity by running four 10km races, four half-marathons and four marathons in 12 months. The firm raised over £25,000 in total which went to 10 charities.
Romaine Thompson, senior partner at Anthony Collins Solicitors, said: “We are proud to see Kate in the running for this prestigious award, especially as she is one of our own, having completed her training with Anthony Collins Solicitors.
“Kate typifies the approach we take to all our clients. She is committed and pro-active, but also offers vital and expert support to people at some of the most difficult times of their lives.”
The Lawyer Awards 2012 ceremony will be held at London’s Grosvenor Hotel on Tuesday, June 26.
