Meningitis now are calling for corporate supporters as part of their New Year New You 2020 campaign – why not sign up and get a team together to take part in one of their events this year.
There are lots to choose from and they’re a great way to inspire your staff, creating pride and motivation and building team spirit. They’re good fun too.
Taking on the challenge
Last year saw a number of corporate teams taking on the Five Valleys Walk, a 21-mile challenge around the Cotswold hills and valleys that surround Meningitis now’s Head Office in Gloucestershire, including Anthony Collins Solicitors, Berry bpi group and Loxley Legal.
Sarah Huntbach, Senior Associate at Anthony Collins Solicitors, said, “From a corporate business perspective we get a huge amount of benefit from taking part in the Five Valleys Walk. We have now participated for the last two years.”
“As a firm we have many different departments and whilst everyone is working towards a common goal of improving lives, communities and society through the work we do in acting for individuals and organisational clients, the opportunities to get to know each other are limited.”
“Bringing together a group of people from across the firm who all voluntarily participate in the day is so uplifting and has longer-term benefits through the development of good relationships with our colleagues, which spending a day getting to know each on this challenging walk offers.”
“The second year saw our team increase in participants from the first year – including people returning – and I expect the team we put in for our third year this year to be bigger again.”
And Sarah’s colleague Claraine, who did the walk for the first time last year, added, “It was a challenging and emotional experience for me but I had a wonderful day and met some wonderful people. I am definitely signing up again this year!”
