During this period of uncertainty, many of you are unsure as to how the new government measures will affect respective parents spending time with their children.
The following advice was given by Michael Gove, Minister for the Cabinet Office, yesterday (24 March), which sheds some light on this issue.
“The key thing here is actually if you want to ensure that children can see their parent, then they can be moved from one parent to another…[Previously] I stressed that wherever possible this should be kept to a minimum, but I want to absolutely clarify that I wasn’t sufficiently clear earlier.
“It IS the case that children under the age of 18 can see both parents.”
Routes for compliance and enforcement are more difficult at the moment so we would urge everybody to be reasonable and as ever putting the safety and wellbeing of their children first.
