Rankeshwar Batta, partner, Ann Houghton, solicitor, Alexandra Loxton, chartered legal executive and Rose Klemperer, paralegal have all been shortlisted in recognition of their work in the legal sector.
Personal injury and clinical negligence specialist Rankeshwar has been shortlisted for ‘Partner of the Year’ demonstrating his outstanding leadership, his commitment to CSR, his contribution to the legal profession in general and his positive contribution to the reputation of solicitors – all which go above and beyond his role as partner.
Ann, also a personal injury specialist has been shortlisted for ‘Assistant Solicitor of the Year’ after demonstrating a passion and determination to improve clients’ quality of life. She is also a Joint Honorary Secretary of the Birmingham Law Society and consistently works to improve the reputation of the legal profession.
Alexandra, working in Corporate Litigation has been shortlisted for ‘Chartered Legal Executive of the Year’ after highlighting her involvement with other organisations (such as CILEx) and her contributions to legal publications and research. Her submission was backed up by some outstanding testimonials from clients.
Rose has been shortlisted for ‘Paralegal of the Year’ having showcased some of the high-profile cases she has been involved in and her ability to handle levels of responsibility beyond her first year paralegal qualification. She is also a keen attendee at many BSG, Birmingham Law Society and BTSS events.
As well as being dedicated individuals in the sector, nominees have shown that they still find time to participate in many charitable activities in their own time, setting them apart from other lawyers in the profession.
Winners of the Birmingham Law Society Awards 2014 will be announced at an awards ceremony held at the ICC in Birmingham on the evening of the 20th March 2014 – we wish all the best of luck to Rankeshwar, Ann, Alexandra and Rose!
