Matt Wort, partner and head of the health and social care team at Anthony Collins Solicitors (ACS), a national law firm with offices in Birmingham and Manchester, has been named as one of The Lawyer Hot 100.
The annual listing, produced by The Lawyer, focuses on those whose work has two things in common, excellence: leading the legal sector and making a positive impact to society; and relevance: doing important work that is relevant now.
Matt, an employment lawyer, who leads the firm’s work in the health and social care sector, spent 2020 and 2021 talking hundreds of clients through the rapidly changing legal landscape during the Covid-19 pandemic. He also supported national trade bodies Care England the National Care Forum on how their members responded to the changes in law and guidance to ensure they provided the best possible care to the people they support.
He has led industry commentary on the response to mandatory vaccinations for workers in health and social care.
This is the first time that Matt has been featured in The Lawyer Hot 100, and the first a member of ACS has made it onto the hotly contested list.
Peter Hubbard, senior partner at Anthony Collins Solicitors, said:
“The health and social care sectors have faced unprecedented change and challenges during the pandemic, at a speed that has been unrelentingly fast. We are incredibly proud of the work that ACS and our team, led by Matt Wort, has provided to help organisations working at the very forefront, supporting care workers and those they look after.
“Matt has remained unwavering in his own personal commitment to the social care sector during this crisis and beyond.”
Matt Wort, partner at Anthony Collins Solicitors, said:
“I feel privileged to work at a law firm with such a strong commitment to improving lives, communities and society.
“As a social purpose law firm, Anthony Collins Solicitors believes in the invaluable role care providers and workers play in supporting vulnerable people throughout the UK. It is this belief that drives myself and our team forward.
“Many care providers are currently facing great instability, endangering the millions of vulnerable people that rely on their services. We are focused and driven by helping these care providers tackle some of the huge challenges that they’re currently facing.”
