My role

I am a partner in the litigation department, specialising in clinical negligence and serious personal injury.

I deal with a broad range of serious injury claims and have a particular interest in cases involving complex medical matters. My aim is to help clients fully understand the details of their claim by way of an approachable but professional relationship.

My experience

Prior to training as a solicitor, I was a qualified registered general nurse. I worked for over ten years in the NHS in a variety of hospital settings including general medical, orthopaedic and surgical wards. I specialised in nephrology and worked as a ward sister for five years on an acute renal medical ward. The experience gained during that time has helped immensely in my work as a clinical negligence solicitor, not only in relation to the technical areas of a claim but also in my relationships with clients. I find that clients are put at their ease once they know I was previously a nurse and can better understand the problems they have faced. I am also able to proficiently interpret medical records at an early point of a claim which can prevent surprises at a later stage.

I qualified as a solicitor in 2005 and have spent that time working in the area of personal injury and clinical negligence. In recent years I have settled several multi-million-pound claims. I will always strive for the best possible settlement whatever the value of the claim and ensure that my clients are provided with the rehabilitation they need.

I am accredited to The Law Society’s clinical negligence panel and to the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. I am also a member of the association for victims of medical accidents.

I am a trustee on the board of the local Disability Information Bureau and in my spare time, I enjoy walking, sailing and cooking.
