Associate in the Governance, funding & corporate team

Sarah has advised the charity and not-for-profit, faith and ecclesiastical sectors for over 20 years, specialising in legal compliance, governance and regulation. She is deputy Diocesan Registrar for two Church of England Dioceses and advises the boards of national charities and individual trustees across a wide range of denominations.
Sarah advises on church and ecclesiastical matters, charitable trusts, charity registration, Charities Act property restrictions, Charity Commission consents, mergers, reorganisations and governance reviews. She is an approved Charity Commission Interim Manager - appointed five times - trusted to manage charity governance during Statutory Inquiries. Sarah leads the firm's work on Church Sharing Agreements, Local Ecumenical Partnerships and ministerial property equity sharing, and regularly delivers trustee training on duties and responsibilities.
Sarah provides strategic, practical and accessible advice, always looking for creative solutions rather than simply explaining why something cannot be done. She is equally comfortable with senior leaders and those new to the law and is committed to helping clients understand their context and manage risk - so they can focus on transforming their communities.
