Testimonials

Excellent charity governance is a necessity, not a choice for today’s charities

Edwina leads the charities governance team at Anthony Collins and has extensive experience of working with national and international charities, advising on restructures, mergers and internal governance. She works regularly with charities, including churches and other charities with a Christian foundation, health and social care charities and those working in the arts, such as theatres.

As well as helping to establish new charities and training trustees in their regulatory responsibilities, Edwina works closely with boards and chief executives on matters including asset transfers, the establishment of trading subsidiaries and social enterprise companies, group structures, trustee remuneration, and grant agreements.

She liaises regularly with the Charity Commission concerning all aspects of charity regulation, including serious incident reporting, altering charitable objects, and charity investigations, and is regularly appointed by the Charity Commission to act as interim manager for charities who are the subject of a statutory inquiry.

Taking an active role in the Anthony Collins Solicitors trainee programme, Edwina enjoys supporting the development of junior colleagues. She is also involved in her local church where she runs a youth group.
