Associate in the property team

My role

I specialise in advising our clients regarding tenancy, leasehold and service charge issues that affect their operations, as well as representing them in proceedings at the first-tier tribunal (property chamber), as part of our team. I frequently work with my colleagues in other disciplines to find the best solutions for our clients.

My experience

I have a solid background in law including property-related/commercial disputes, as well as having served on the board of management of a West Midlands based housing association as a non-executive member for over four years. My current specialism reflects my broad interest in the availability of affordable quality housing to allow society to thrive.

One question has therefore been, where leasehold interests are present within a building, who should pay for the cost of those works. Of particular concern have been buildings over a certain height, for which fire safety is a major concern.
