Tessa Whiskard

A partner in the personal planning team, Tessa brings a wealth of experience and compassion to her role and specialises in supporting families and individuals with wills, trusts and inheritance tax planning.

Working closely with elderly and vulnerable clients, Tessa is passionate about supporting her clients with the correct legal processes to protect their interests and futureproof their finances and estates. She has a particular focus on advising business owners with succession planning, making sure that the correct people are appointed to carry the business forward, and works alongside financial and professional advisors to guarantee that all matters are handled both thoroughly and sensitively.

As an avid ‘people person’, Tessa prioritises personal connection in all her cases, working to ensure her clients feel comfortable and confident sharing what can be complicated family situations. In some cases, Tessa supports her clients in the role of Deputy and as a professional attorney, helping to guarantee that everybody has access to a trusted and safe pair of hands in times of need. She is also a trustee of Activities in Retirement, a charitable organisation in Macclesfield that seeks to support retired people with both their mental and physical health.

She is also happy to provide talks and presentations to groups (such as WIs, Probus and user groups of charities, etc.), and to work in conjunction with other professional contacts to provide individuals with information on complex personal topics, so that they can make informed decisions about their own circumstances and put plans in place for the future.
