Rankeshwar Batta

Testimonials

I combine deep expertise with empathy to guide clients through complex injury claims, simplifying the process and securing outcomes that support long-term recovery and access to justice.

Rankeshwar is a partner in the clinical negligence and personal injury department, handling a wide variety of clinical negligence and personal injury cases with a focus on maximum severity/catastrophic injury claims. He also handles professional negligence cases arising out of personal injury and clinical negligence.

As a partner, Rankeshwar also has wider strategic leadership responsibilities. He is accredited to the Law Society Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Panel as well as the AvMA Clinical Negligence Panel and is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, highlighting his specialism in this area of work. He partners with and supports like-minded organisations who share a common goal of supporting individuals who have suffered a life-changing injury, such as the Child Brain Injury Trust, Headway, The Sepsis Trust and The Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust.

Rankeshwar qualified in 1995 having had a broad range of experience, in both civil and criminal litigation as well as non-contentious work. He moved to Anthony Collins Solicitors in September 2000 and was invited to partnership in 2009. He sits as a deputy district judge on the northwest circuit and has had articles and case reports published in a wide variety of medico-legal journals.

He has extensive experience in all types of clinical negligence and personal injury cases but specialises in complex claims which usually have a catastrophic injury element.

Rankeshwar is recommended in the leading lawyers guides to outstanding lawyers, the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners UK directories where he has been named as an “elite” lawyer.

He has also been involved in extremely high-value complex claims which have resulted in multi-million pound settlements or awards ranging from brain/spinal injury to orthopaedic injuries. Some of these cases have proceeded to the Court of Appeal and therefore tested legal principles and application in his area of work.

Rankeshwar is on the Law Society Personal Injury Panel, the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel and the AvMA Clinical Negligence Panel.
