Legal director in the Governance, funding & corporate team
A qualified solicitor since 2011, Laura is an experienced advisor in relation to charities and third-sector governance, having provided support to charities, mutuals and other community-based organisations throughout her legal career.
Joining Anthony Collins’ Manchester office as legal director, Laura has a strong reputation for aiding the third sector, citing her passion for her job as “supporting those that have a positive impact on the world”.
At Anthony Collins, she provides advice and support to third sector organisations on all aspects of governance, including setting up new organisations, restructuring existing ones and advising on the handling of disputes among board members. She is also highly experienced in delivering training and is a regular speaker at third sector events.
Laura’s social purpose mission extends beyond her role as a solicitor. Outside work, she is a trustee of the Francis Scott Trust: a large, grant-making charity that supports young people in Cumbria and the Lancaster district; a founder-director of the Kendal Parent Network; and a resident of an eco-cohousing community in Cumbria. She is also an avid cyclist, having founded the Cycle Touring Festival in 2015, after cycling around the world.
