A member of the housing corporate services and funding team.
I am part of our housing corporate services and funding team. I support our clients across the housing and third sector on their corporate and company secretarial needs, including providing support to boards and executive teams on their regulatory compliance.
I joined the housing corporate funding team at Anthony Collins Solicitors in 2017, as a newly qualified solicitor. I trained at a regional high-street firm and have experience in property and general corporate work. Since joining the team I have been involved in a variety of work for our housing clients, including advising on corporate and governance needs. I have also assisted in the creation of group structures, consolidations, conversions and amalgamations in order to facilitate growth and help meet our client’s strategic objectives.
In our latest Company Secretary Update, we focus on the Queen’s Speech over Christmas and the recommendations and commitments in relation to housing.
This quarter our spotlight piece focuses on Brexit following the updated briefing note issued by the National Housing Federation (NHF) to help the housing sector prepare for a no-deal Brexit.
Our spotlight piece considers the role of a Senior Independent Director and sector best practice. We also explore recent developments in case law, regulatory and data protection updates, and more.
2019 is now in full swing and with it comes the first company secretary update of the year!
In this update we cover topics including: corporate tax evasion offences, the government’s consultation on corporate governance and insolvency, this quarter’s key dates (yes, we do mention GDPR!).
The revised Standard replaces the old self-assessment model with a more structured mechanism that places VFM at the heart of the business and involves reporting against a set of VFM Metrics.
We can confirm that the Regulations have come into force as drafted in September (you can read our ebriefing here) and that there are no substantive changes to their content.
