This free inclusive workshop will examine diversity in both law and wealth / investment industries. We will analyse the obstacles faced in the workplace and discuss the challenges that might be holding female talent back.
What is it about?
It’s 100 years since women were able to practice law, however, in investment, it’s the reverse. In the UK only 9% of investment managers are women. Although things have changed dramatically over time, there is still a huge push to focus on recruiting, retaining and developing more women to ensure continued and increased innovation and diversity. Can we break the myths and stereotypes that people assume these industries have?
Who should attend?
We’re inviting both male and female university students from Birmingham of all backgrounds.
Who will be there?
This event, hosted by Anthony Collins Solicitors LLP, Tilney Investment Management Services Limited and ‘Women in Business’, will focus on alternative routes into law and investment, social mobility and networking.
What will be covered?
Organisations have a real responsibility to promote and encourage female leadership potential and to invest in a talent pipeline that continually supports and maximises women to excel. This practical hour-long session will cover:
- History and overview of firms and core services
- Open discussion around recruitment attractiveness and paths into the industries
- Top tips to become financially savvy
- Types of careers available to everyone
