Here at Anthony Collins Solicitors, we have been hard at work advising a charity client, BICMP, on its new music project, ‘Resonance’.
Resonance is a unique institute for popular music that will be opening on The Waterfront at Brierley Hill next year.
The institute will be offering prospective students several university-level courses under a franchise arrangement from Solent University in Southampton. From 2020, Resonance will provide undergraduate degrees in Popular Music Performance, Production, Digital Music, and Music Business. Down the line, Resonance hopes to offer a degree in Education and Wellbeing and an MA course in Contemporary Music Performance.
All courses delivered at Resonance will be led by industry professionals and will focus on helping students to develop the broad range of skills needed by those hoping to succeed in the music sector.
In addition to the academic courses on offer, the launch of Resonance will also create a dynamic community music hub, where musicians and organisations from across the Midlands can make full use of the state-of-the-art facilities on offer.
The Black Country LEP is currently funding the project and has given BICMP a grant to ensure its continued success. The project is also receiving financial support from Unity Trust Bank and the Arts Impact Fund.
For our part, we are thrilled to have assisted and advised BICMP throughout the project. In particular, providing legal services regarding funding agreements, charging needs, and property acquisition.
We wish BICMP the best of luck for the launch of Resonance.
