What was our brief?
Accord, the Lead Partner in Matrix, asked us to draw up a Consortium Agreement that provided a robust yet flexible structure for a development partnering arrangement between five RSL’s.
What did we do?
We spent time with Accord identifying the key values and outcomes to be achieved by the partnering. We also helped devise a series of internal “checks and balances” to promote effective working between the five organisations.
The draft was written in Plain English with the specific objective of providing fair and reasonable protection for all parties involved.
What were the results?
As a consequence of the way in which the documentation was drafted, early “buy-in” was achieved from all the partner organisations. There were no protracted negotiations. This saved considerable time and expense and fostered (rather than hindered) good working relations between the Matrix partners.
Chris Handy, CEO of Accord, says:
"Anthony Collins played a key role in developing the legal and contractual framework for the Matrix Housing Partnership. In addition, Simon Ramshaw contributed significantly to the discussion on the nature of the partnership and helped shape its development. His user-friendly documentation helped re-enforce the values of the Matrix Housing Partnership."
