Stepping up

Two specialist lawyers at nationally recognised firm Anthony Collins have been acknowledged for their work and commitment within the private client legal services world by STEP, the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners. Alex Elphinston has been elected Chairman of the Birmingham Branch of STEP and Donna Holmes has received an award for being the highest scoring candidate in one of her examination papers to become STEP accredited.

The Birmingham Branch of STEP which has over 300 members and covers the whole of the West Midlands. STEP members are recognised in the industry as being premier providers of advice on wills, family trusts, tax and estate matters. STEP is an international organisation. Alex will also be involved at a national level discussing issues that affect the profession.

Donna who excelled in the first of her accreditation papers, surpassed her peers and was singled out at by STEP at the recent Excellence Awards as one of only two winners outside London, for the England and Wales examinations. The awards highlighted the success of students in England, Wales and Scotland and reward those individuals who achieved outstanding results in either the STEP Diploma exams or the Qualified Practitioner essay routes to membership.
