- Mark is nationally recognised as an expert on sustainable procurement, especially social issues and clauses, targeted recruitment and training.

Mark co-authored with Richard Macfarlane (www.rmacfarlane.co.uk) the groundbreaking JRF Report "Achieving Community Benefits through Contracts" (published 2002).
Married with two children, Mark’s leisure interests include world music, real ale, football and walking.
He is director of the Nehemiah Foundation which works with local organisations in supporting and training regenerations workers to enable lasting transformation.
He is also director of REalliance Community Interest Company which has been established to benefit third sector groups which work in waste reduction, reuse, composting and recycling.
