Kate is involved in the national provision of services to organisations and partnerships engaged in regeneration activity, often focussing around housing, with particular expertise around the early stages and supporting community-based organisations and initiatives. Her particular expertise is in tenant and community empowerment issues; community profiling; consultation; and engagement strategies. She is Development Manager of the Nehemiah Foundation, which is initiating a series of neighbourhood-based regeneration programmes with cross-sector support. Kate is responsible for helping this new charity achieve financial sustainability; and gain national accreditation and recognition
Professional Memberships, Publications and Interests: Kate has recently completed an MSc in Housing Policy and Research where she received a distinction for her dissertation on the effectiveness of community empowerment frameworks in neighbourhood renewal processes. She is very nearly a mum of one; plays the guitar badly; is a keen reader of contemporary fiction and a lover of music.
