Whatever those choices are, we will need to start considering the potential impact this next Government will have on communities, neighbourhoods and businesses. We will need to work out what the future might look like post May 2015.

Join us on Thursday 14th May 2015 as we start to consider these issues by hosting a sector networking breakfast offering you the opportunity to discuss key post-election concerns with your sector peers as well as hearing election de-briefings from three guest speakers:

  • Cliff Mills of Mutuo, a leading lawyer and thinker in the co-operative movement, will consider the implications for the co-op and mutual sector;
  • Sarah Crawley, CEO of iSE, the social enterprise development organisation, will review the outcome for social enterprises; and
  • Afzal Hussain of Witton Lodge Community Association and an experienced neighbourhood practitioner will give a view on the impact on community based organisations.

The event will commence with breakfast at 7.30am and discussion will start around 8am, aiming to finish by 9.30am at the latest. If you would like to reserve your place at the post-election breakfast please just click on the RSVP button.

We were also very pleased to have sponsored the Mutuals Manifesto 2015 produced by think tank Mutuo. The manifesto is a challenge to the next government to put mutual ownership at the heart of business and society. It sets out key policies developed to nurture sustainable social businesses. Details are available here.
