On Saturday 30 May, in around 25 degrees heat, 17 Anthony Collins Solicitors staff once again took part in the Great St Basils Walk 2009, in the Brecon Beacons. 3 teams completed the 27 mile course and 1 team completed the 14 mile course, both of which included trekking up Pen-y-Fan, the second highest peak in South Wales. All teams crossed the finish line in under 10 hours 15 minutes. The walk is an annual event which many local businesses take part in, to raise money for St Basils, a Birmingham homelessness charity which provides supported accommodation for young people ages 16 to 25 and a range of support services. Anthony Collins Solicitors teams look set to raise over £2000 this year for the charity from the walk, and will be hoping to raise more for the annual Big Sleep Out in December, which will see staff members sleeping outside under the stars for a night.
