Changes to legal aid funding
From 1 April 2013, the availability of public funding (“legal aid”) for a range of areas of law for individuals on low incomes was overhauled with the introduction of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012. This has affected the funding of many new cases. For further information, see our useful Changes to Legal Aid guide.
