Aimed at directors, senior managers and health and safety officers and representatives, this general seminar will include: An understanding of the key concepts for directors as recommended by the HSE and Institute of Directors (‘Leading health and safety at work’) Legal responsibility of employers Good practice in planning, delivering and monitoring health and safety Legal liability of individual board members for health and safety failures Leadership checklist Corporate manslaughter - an overview Why should I attend? If you have employees, then you have responsibility for their health and safety whilst they are at work. You owe a similar duty of care to visitors to your premises. The responsibilities are now so wide that clients often have difficulty understanding the extent of their duties and may struggle to carry them out. In some cases this can have serious consequences, leading to injury or even death and subsequent prosecution, as well as claims in the civil courts.
