Equality – The New Religion?

Event date: 27 May 2010

When is it?

• 2 pm – 4:30 pm (registration from 1:30 pm)
• 134 Edmund Street, Birmingham, B3 2ES
• free for clients and non clients

Who will be there?

• Doug Mullen and Matt Wort, Associates in the Employment Law Team who regularly advise on equality issues
• Senior Executives, Managers and Trustees from faith based organisations

What is it about?

• Equality laws can cause significant issues for faith based organisations because of the competing rights of individuals with differing beliefs. The current Equality Bill has highlighted some of those issues.
• This session will help you to explore how they impact on your employment policy and practice and your relationships with your funders.

Why should I attend?

• It is increasingly challenging for faith based organisations to maintain their distinctiveness.
• This session will help you to maintain or develop employment policies and practices that safeguard the ethos and values of your organisation.
• We will also give practical tips on managing your relationships with local authority and other funders when equality issues are on the agenda.
• There will be an opportunity to network with others from faith based organisations and to have expert input from our team.
